County of Riverside Invites Community to Celebrate Public Works with Equipment Rodeo and Family Event

Jurupa Valley, CA — The County of Riverside will celebrate National Public Works Week with a free community event highlighting the dedicated professionals and essential services that keep our communities running every day.

Hosted in recognition of National Public Works Week, the event will bring together public works teams, community partners, and residents for an interactive day that showcases the equipment, expertise, and behind-the-scenes work that supports roads, infrastructure, environmental stewardship, and public spaces throughout the county.

Community members are invited to meet the professionals who maintain the systems we rely on every day and learn more about the vital services provided across Riverside County.

The celebration will include:

  • A Public Works Equipment Rodeo featuring skilled operators competing on heavy equipment
  • Opportunities to meet local public works teams and partner agencies
  • Live music
  • Food vendors and a craft beer garden
  • Interactive displays and booths highlighting public works services and careers

Public works professionals play a critical role in maintaining transportation systems, protecting natural resources, managing environmental programs, and preserving parks and open spaces that support the quality of life for residents across the region.

“Public works professionals often work behind the scenes, yet their contributions are essential to the safety, health, and vitality of our communities,” said Supervisor Karen Spiegel, Chair of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors. “This event is an opportunity to recognize their dedication and give residents a closer look at the work that keeps Riverside County moving forward.”

National Public Works Week, established by the American Public Works Association, is celebrated nationwide each year to recognize the professionals who plan, build, operate, and maintain the infrastructure and services that support thriving communities.

Residents of all ages are encouraged to attend this free, family-friendly event and learn more about the important role public works play in everyday life.
